Worknesh is a coffee and vegetable farmer in Ethiopia. Every June, her family’s food runs out. So too does fthe money they have from selling their coffee and crops. And when it does, her three children go hungry.

Worknesh knew her children were in danger of stunting, cognitive impairment, and more due to malnutrition. She realised their lives were in danger, yet she was powerless to protect them.

Experts from the CLEAR project are providing Worknesh and her community with business training, teaching them how to market their goods, achieve the best prices and put money aside to build resilience.

Worknesh was one of the first farmers to sign up to the project, and she spoke to us about how your generous support has already filled her with hope that next year, at last, she will be spared the agony of seeing her children go hungry:
